  • Overview

    We are actively seeking a Director of Nursing to join our Aging Services team in Jacksonville, FL. This full-time position is located at our University Crossing Skilled Nursing Facility.  University Crossing is a 111 bed skilled nursing facility that predominately specializes in short term rehabilitation with approximately 25 long term beds. Since our opening in September of 2016, we average 100 plus admissions each month from a large referral base.  University Crossing is ranked a 5 STAR skilled nursing facility and has achieved the 2018 AHCA Bronze Quality Award during the first year of eligibility.  Currently, the facility is pursuing Joint Commission Accreditation for 2019.

    Responsibilities

    The position requires an experienced registered nurse leader with  knowledge, transformational leadership skills, and authority required to provide effective and coordinated leadership to the nursing department. The DON is responsible for developing standards of nursing practice and for implementing the facility’s plan for providing excellent nursing care. They are responsible for planning, organizing and directing the administrative and clinical functions of the nursing and ancillary clinical services  departments. The primary role of the DON is ensuring the delivery of high quality, patient centered nursing care through the nursing department.  In the absence of the Administrator, this position is charged with carrying out the resident care policies established by this facility.

    Qualifications

    Registered Nurse Education and Experience Requirements:

    • Registered Nurse with a State of Florida/Multi-State license.
    • A BSN is required with a preference of a MSN.
    • Proficient knowledge in long term care/skilled nursing federal and state regulations.
    • Strong previous state and federal survey results.
    • Ability to work within a patient-centered, interdisciplinary team of collaborative clinicians.
    • Must have experience in 4 or 5 STAR rated facilities
